Patient Care Assistant (PCA) A PCA provides basic hands-on nursing care and assistance with the patients' activities of daily living. PCA qualifications include: - Being a student nurse in good standing

- Completion of a fundamentals of nursing course

Nurse Extern Nurse externs are nursing students in their final semesters of nursing school. Nurse externs work with a registered nurse preceptor and act as a nurse-extender, learning the performance expectations of an entry-level staff nurse while offering helping hands for patient care.
Nurse Extern qualifications include: - Being a student nurse in good standing
- Completion of a pharmacology course or equivalent
- Clinical experience in the area of placement

Postings for our Nurse Extern positions occur every March & October. For fall, the hiring process begins in October with orientation occuring in December. For spring, the hiring process begins in March with orientation in May/June. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) LPNs at Bronson are employed in traditional nursing team support roles, such as medication and treatment delivery. LPN qualifications include: - Being a recent graduate from an accredited nursing school

For Licensed Nurses
Nurse Intern Nurse internships are educational pathways for new or recent nurse graduates for the critical care, medical/surgical or peri-operative areas. The nurse intern program at Bronson helps prepare new graduates for acute care nursing. Nurse intern qualifications include: - An employment commitment to Bronson of 12-24 months after completion of the program (depending on the program)
- A current Michigan registered nurse license
